1

Pick up from Tallinn

Whether you visit Tallinn by a cruise ship or staying here for longer, your tour guide will pick you up from a place most convenient for you. Get yourself ready and start your half-day tour without any hassle.
2

Get outside of Tallinn and visit a bog

Leave the bustling city behind and let your local guide drive you to a bog about an hour away from Tallinn. On your way you will see the real face of Estonia with its vast forest and largely untouched nature. As almost half of Estonia’s population lives in the capital, most of the country is covered with natural habitats as the cities are small and agriculture not extensive.
3

Have a hike in the bog

Put your bog shoes on and follow your guide around the clear bog pools and vast open landscape. Learn about the exceptional fauna and flora from carnivorous plants to local orchids and listen to the bird song or try to identify animal tracks. Let your mind rest in the stillness of the nature and breath in the clean air.
4

Get dropped off at the cruise harbor or stay in the Old Town

Once your hike in the bog is finished and your lungs are filled with the clean air, enjoy your drive back to Tallinn. You can choose to be dropped off at the Tallinn cruise terminal or stay in the Old Town for a little while to enjoy the cozy atmosphere or have a lunch in one of Tallinn’s excellent restaurants.

Tour Reviews

We were a group of 4 adults and we booked a bogshoeing day tour with Prangli Travels. We interacted with Nele who was extremely helpful and prompt in replying to emails and answering all my many questions about the outing. She told us Marilin will be our bogshoeing guide and she is the best nature guide in Estonia.
This turned out to be absolutely true. The bogshoeing was such a wonderful, fun and unique experience and Marilin was truly the best guide we could have asked for. Her love and passion for nature really came thru. Apart from the bogshoeing, she also showed us so many cool plants – many varieties of edible berries and mushrooms as well as carnivorous plants in the bog.
Very highly recommend Prangli Travels and the unique bogshoeing experience and ask for Marilin as your guide.

Very cool tour – Katri was a very competent guide with a lot of knowledge about everything that grows and lives in a bog. We really enjoyed it and can recommend the tour to anyone!

It was a great tour with a great guide. Everything went smoothly and Meriliis was able to tell us a lot about the country and nature. The mud shoe hike was really great including a swim in one of the lakes. We really enjoyed it. Definitely recommendable.

Beautilful Estonian Countryside and a Fantastic Tour.
We did the Bog Shoe Hiking Tout with Prangli Travel in January 2023. It was a fantastic experience walking on the Estonian Bog. Our tour guides Keidi and Epp were extremely knowledgeable about the local area. The combination of the snow and greenery on the frozen bog made the Bog Hike a truly fascinating and memorable experience. I would strongly recommend using Prangli Travel and to venture out of the city of Tallinn to do this tour to see the beautiful countryside/nature that Estonia has to offer.

We have very enjoyed the activities and Keidi was fantastic!

Thank you very much for helping with the organization! The group was very happy, everything was perfect.
I will definitely remember about you in the implementation of the program for other groups in Tallinn.

Thank you for organizing a very interesting bog-shoe walk with Helen and her charming son, Orm. We really enjoyed all of it – including the bath in a bog pool and Helens tasty lunch snacks 😀

25. Sep 2021

Yesterday we went on a bog hike with Helen and we want to say what a wonderful trip it was. Helen was a great guide. She made us feel safe even though neither of us had ever walked on a bog in bog shoes before. She was very knowledgeable about the bog and its flora and fauna, as well as aspects of Estonian history and legends. Helen was so friendly and outgoing that the trip was not only exciting but really fun. We’d recommend this trip to anyone visiting Tallinn as it gives such a contrast to simply seeing the (also impressive) old town.

Epic bog trip
It was such a great and unique experience to do the hike. We had a great guide, Triin. She knows so much about the bog and the and the plants and creatures. The tour was exactly long enough cause it is very intense. Would recommend to do this unique experience.

Thank you very much for organising it for us.

24. May 2019

I recommend everyone who is visiting Tallinn to do this trip. It was a really great experience to hike in this beautiful landscape. You should take some waterproof shoes with you, because you probably get a little wet, if you are not careful where you set your foot 😉

Bog-shoeing and husky-sledding: BEST DAY EVER!
My boyfriend and I had the best day ever with our wonderful guide, Helen. We were interested in doing some winter activities whilst we were in Estonia and enquired about bog-shoeing and husky-sledding. Prangli Travel suggested that we could do both in the same day in a combo-tour, which is what we ended up doing. It was so much fun! Helen was great and we learned so much about Estonian life – as well as about the bog and the huskies! Would highly recommend – it was the best day of our holiday! Thanks Helen and Prangli Travel.

Excellent day out!
We spent the day with Helen who took us on a beautiful snow shoe hike in the morning which was lots of fun! Me and my girlfriend had never been snow-shoeing before but both thoroughly enjoyed it.

In the afternoon she took us to us a local Husky farm and we loved getting to meet all the dogs and give them lots of fuss. We then went on a great husky sleigh ride and also got to meet some of the puppies.

We both loved the whole day and had a great time. Helen was an excellent guide and had lots of interesting facts and stories about the area to share with us!

We would both highly recommend this to any other travellers.

8. Jan 2018

Made a bog hike with Helen. Was a very nice experience for me and my (teen) kids.
And also the Secrets of the Soviets tour with Annika was very interesting. We did learn a lot about the history of Estland. I can only say when you visit Tallinn you surely have to go on these kind of trips to see what you normally would not see.
I’m sure next time when I am in Estland I will call Prangli team to show me more nice places.
