The bogs are places very dear to all Estonians and have been part of our culture for centuries. Therefore, one mustn’t leave Estonia before visiting a bog. The bog-shoe hiking in a bog takes you to places that otherwise would be inaccessible. We hike around the bog pools, admire the wildlife, climb the watch-tower, and listen to mysterious stories and legends our tour guides tell about the bogs. A bog-shoe hike is doable year-round and offers different discoveries every season. Have an unforgettable adventure in Estonia and go on a bog-shoe hike through a picturesque bog (we will choose the best bog based on the season).

In the wintertime, we offer the same tour as a snowshoe hike.

Pick up from Tallinn

Whether you arrive by cruise ship or stay longer in Tallinn, your guide will pick you up from a convenient location. Get ready for a half-day tour that starts without hassle.

Get outside of Tallinn and visit a bog

Leave the city behind and enjoy a drive of about an hour. On the way, you will see Estonia’s true face: vast forests and untouched nature. With nearly half the population living in Tallinn, the rest of the country remains wild.

Hike in the bog

Put on your bog shoes and follow your guide across wooden paths and open landscapes. Learn about carnivorous plants, orchids, birds, and animal tracks. Take in the silence, breathe clean air, and let nature calm your mind.

Get dropped off at the cruise harbor or stay in the Old Town

After the hike, relax on your drive back. Choose to be dropped off at the cruise terminal or in Tallinn’s Old Town, where you can enjoy a meal or explore the medieval streets.

Wear waterproof and comfortable boots! If you do not have any, please rquest rubber boots from us (5€ extra charge)

We usually offer a discounted price for families with children. The tour is recommended for children from 12 years old. Please ask for more information.

The minimum group size for our tours is 2 people. Solo travellers are welcome to join others. Send the request with possible dates and we will give you more information.

Perfect day with a wonderful guide! It was so easy to schedule this tour. Marilin was punctual, prepared, and very knowledgeable. She shared a lot of information about the bog and the natural areas we visited. She also gave us a very good orientation to Estonia and answered all of our questions.
