Prangli Island is one of Estonia’s most authentic and peaceful nature destinations – a small island with more than 600 years of history, its own dialect, traditional fishing culture, and a friendly local community. After a pleasant ferry ride from the mainland, you’ll explore the island’s pine forests, coastal trails, and quiet sandy beaches with a local guide who shares stories and legends from island life.
The hike is suitable for all levels and can be adapted to the season, from simple walking to using winter sledges. After the hike, enjoy a homemade island lunch. Next, you will relax in a traditional Estonian sauna and liven up the experience with a swim in the brisk Baltic Sea. A jeep or Soviet-style truck returns you to the harbour before the ferry back to Tallinn.
This tour is perfect for travellers who enjoy nature, peaceful landscapes, and genuinely local experiences close to the capital.

Tour Reviews
Our tour to Prangli Island from Tallinn with Prangli Travel was excellent. We had a wonderful tour guide, Epp, show us around the island and answered any questions we had about the area.
As it was the winter, Prangli was covered in snow, and was beautiful to hike around. Epp showed us some of the prime spots on the island, including the beautiful church, and the natural gas pipe – which she bought along some marshmallows as well for us to enjoy.
We enjoyed some lunch at one of the houses in Prangli, which was lovely, and had a local charm to it. There was also a really cute dog as well.
If you’re into photography, or perhaps just hiking, I would recommend travelling to Prangli as it provides some breath-taking moments.
Epp was a real help even after our tour, providing us with a list of places she’d recommend visiting whilst in Tallinn.
November is an odd month, but the month for my wife’s birthday. We hiked in the biodiverse forests of Prangli Island, guided by Epp, and learnt about this special island and its community. We were welcomed into the stunning home of a resident of Prangli who had prepared a generous lunch to fill and warm us. The private sauna was heated for us (I wish I knew the tricks to keep it as warm!) and we felt truly alive as we ran to the beach for cold plunges and back. The local dogs found this amusing in-between their wrestling matches.
Epp was the perfect guide and clearly cared about sharing her connection to the Estonian nature we enjoyed. I asked (too) many questions, but Epp was always happy to chat and was an open book – even sharing some recommendations after we’d completed our day, and the dun had set. Both our guide and host were fantastic.
Given the intimacy of the experience, it is hard to put a price on it, but I am content knowing that it will support the wonderful people we met. It was a magical experience.
I hope I get to meet Epp, and our host, and the people of Prangli Island again.
