The northern part of Tallinn is truly worth discovering, and the easiest way to explore it is by tram and with a local guide. Rotermann Quarter, Kalamaja, Telliskivi, and Kopli were once industrial areas of the city. Today, thanks to the imagination of creative people and significant investments, these districts have been transformed into colorful, lively residential and leisure areas.
We begin our tour by discovering modern Tallinn’s jewel, the Rotermann Quarter – a vibrant cultural center in the heart of the city. After taking a tram, the tour takes you up onto the roof of Linnahall (the Tallinn Culture and Sports Centre during Soviet times), where scenes from the famous movie Tenet were filmed, as well as through former industrial zones that have become fashionable residential districts. We also visit the quiet former fishermen’s district of Kalamaja, which is today one of Tallinn’s last remaining areas featuring a charming mix of old wooden houses and historic industrial complexes.
The neighborhoods we explore can be compared to the Soho districts of New York and London, though on a smaller scale. You will certainly feel the bohemian atmosphere and likely meet young creative people in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.

Tour Reviews
Stassi showed us the best alternative spots and the hipster corners of Tallinn wonderfully. She was very attentive, really took good care of us, and told very interesting (and also personal) stories! Highly recommended!
