Tour to Husky Park and sledding with Sled Dogs

  • Enjoy a car ride in the wintry countryside of Estonia
  • Get to know the Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes, cuddle and pet them during the park tour.
  • Have fun in the park on a dog-sled ride through beautiful nature.
  • Warm yourself up with hot tea and snacks.

In this activity, we will visit a country dog farm in Kõrvemaa, choosing the farm depending on the availability. It’s the best area to connect with Estonia’s winter beauty and areas full of forests, marshes, and small villages. During the tour to Husky Park and the dog-sled ride, we will introduce you to life on the farm, give you a sled ride with Huskies or Alaskan Malamutes, and offer some tea and refreshments.

During the tour, we’ll talk about sled dogs, get to know them, pet them, and take some sweet photos. Then, you will go one by one on a 2-kilometer sled ride with trained sled dogs. The rest of the group will enjoy local snacks and good company while waiting for the others. The sled has a comfortable seat suitable and safe for everyone, including small children who can ride on their parents’ lap.

Wearing warm clothes is a must at the dog park. Remember boots, a hat, gloves, and a scarf. This makes the experience much more enjoyable!

We will start the tour with a pick-up from the Tallinn Tourist Information Centre.
It takes about 50 minutes to drive through the characteristic Estonian forest landscape to the sled-dog park.
2

Learn more about sled-dogs

On arrival, we will introduce you to the sled-dogs and their home first. We will then give an introduction about the breeds used, their history, character, and field of application.
Dogs are friendly, childish, and playful. Guests can pet and hug them and take pictures.

Harnessing the dogs takes a little bit of time, and then the fun starts. The sled-riding distance can differ depending on weather conditions and which place we visit, but it’s definitely a lot of fun! The distance of the ride is about 2 kilometres. We did the Tour to Husky Park and Dog-Sled ride and loved it. The travel company was very responsive and the driver was on time to pick us up. The drive was quick (40mins) and the guide at the husky park was amazing! Super friendly and we loved playing with the puppies. Enjoyed the husky sled ride and the scenic route, bonfire, hot tea and roasted marshmallows. The guide did a great job with taking our photos with the dogs and the dogs were friendly. Definitely highlight of our trip and a great tour.

Me and my sister went on Prangi Travel’s husky/malamute sledging trip and it was honestly the experience of a lifetime! The pick up was prompt and the driver gave us some local facts on our drive. At the farm, our hosts were brilliant, we met the dogs (including two malamute puppies), each had an opportunity to go for a ride, got a photo op with the dogs and then headed into their cosy kitchen to take advantage of their underfloor heating and freshly baked gingerbread. These guys do a really great job of catering for everyone and even adapt the experience if there’s not snow so that you can go for a ride in a cart instead of a sled. I’d highly recommend this to anyone going to Tallinn but remember to wrap up warm!

The dog sledding activity was an added value to our trip to Tallinn.
The hosts are really friendly and hospitable people. From the moment we arrived they welcomed the group with open arms.
After the activity they took us inside of their home to warm ourselves up with a cup of coffee and decorate some gingerbread cookies.
The entire activity felt really familial.

We are back in Vienna and would like to thank you: everything went well with our tour, even if the weather almost prevented it. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you very much!!!

We booked several tours with Prangli Travel: old Tallinn, Soviet Tallinn, Lahemaa National Park and dogs’ sledge in Small Lapland: all the tours have been perfectly organized, the communication with Annika has been fast and smooth and all the guides were nice, speaking a very good english and with a lot of knowledge also beyond the ordinary. Definitely reccomended.
