We start the tour early in the morning by picking you up from your hotel and heading out to the Paljasaare conservation area.
This area was established in 2005 and is a birdlife site of pan-European importance: 231 different species have been recorded here, 84 of which are protected in Estonia.

Take a walk to the area's bird-watching tower and Rocca al Mare

It’s about a 1 km walk to the bird- watching tower, where we hope to see waterfowl swimming, marsh harriers hunting, hear bitterns calling and watch waders on the coastline. We then continue to Rocca al Mare, in the west part of Tallinn, to see some more species.

Explore bird-watching areas in Tallinn surroundings

Our next destination is 15 km outside Tallinn. We will make 4 stops and take some short walks to see cranes, storks, larks, shrikes, kingfishers, woodpeckers and some birds of prey like common- and rough-legged buzzards and, Montagu’s harrier. Of course, we will also see and hear those passerines typical for the time of year. Outside of Tallinn you will see also some specific habitats, like alvars and the forest between the coastline and the limestone cliffs but also some more common habitats like pine- and mixed- forest.
